What languages are available?
We currently offer a Learn German from English course.
Courses we intend to launch in 2024 include:
Learn Spanish from English
Learn Italian from English
Learn Russian from English
If your desired course is not stated above, please stay tuned as we will be launching more languages over time!
How do I sign up?
You can create a free Cognate account with an email and password at my.cognateapp.com. Once your account is created, you can enter your payment details in the Settings section to purchase a subscription to ensure continued access to Cognate.
Can I switch plans?
Yes, you may change between the 1-Month, 3-Month, 6-Month, and 12-Month subscriptions at any time.
Do you store my payment information?
We use large, reputable third-party payment processors. All payment information is end-to-end encrypted. Choosing to save your payment information means that the payment processor will store an encrypted copy of your payment information for the purposes of subscription renewal. We cannot access your payment information at any time.
How do I cancel my subscription?
While we are sad to see you go, cancelling your subscription is easy. Simply go into the Settings, select "Change subscription" and then "Cancel subscription" at the bottom. This will cancel the auto-renewal and you will not be charged again once your subscription runs out.
How do I delete my account?
Cancelling the subscription auto-renewal does not delete your account, because we want to make it easy for you to pick things back up again should you decide to continue learning at a later date. If you are sure that you will not be using our solution again, and would like to have your account deleted, please go to the Settings section and select "Delete account", making sure to confirm that is what you want to do. Please note that even if you create a new account using the same email address as before, your vocabulary words, lesson history, and all other progress will no longer be available. Therefore, we recommend you maintain your account.
I am having a technical or billing issue, how do I reach support?
Please send us an email, from the email affiliated with your account, to hello@cognateapp.com. Please be sure to describe the issue and we will tend to it as soon as possible. We aim to respond to all customer support requests within 1-2 business days.
Do you sell my information?
We collect information related to your profession, academic studies, hobbies, interests, and other topics in order to customize the course for you. We do not sell this information to third parties.
